The most recent story claims that Apple is preparing to release a whole new family of foldable gadgets, one of which will be an iPad.
Although there is little information available on the foldable iPad, a paywalled story from DigiTimes that was discovered by MacRumors claims that “Apple, who is rumored to have been working on foldable smartphones for several years, is reportedly considering extending the effort to the tablet sector.” We’ll see what additional useful information we can get from it as it takes DigiTimes a few hours to make the complete report available to its readers.
It should be noted that Apple continues to employ mini-LED technology for its iPad Pro series, and any tablet that wants to become foldable must depend on flexible OLED screens since they have the degree of tolerance to be bent without losing structural integrity.
Since Samsung, Huawei, and other manufacturers have been releasing foldable smartphones for years and have not yet conquered these design obstacles, it goes without saying that Apple will take a sizably longer time to release one. We think the corporation is testing several tablet prototypes, but a finished, marketable device won’t be available for years.
