Harukaze, a hardware leaker, released a tip from HSW that revealed the cost of NVIDIA’s forthcoming RTX 4070 Ti. Chinese users will have to pay $999 for the RTX 4070 Ti, as you may have guessed from the headline. To put things in perspective, this costs $100 more than the ‘unlaunched’ RTX 4080.
Surprisingly, the RTX 4070 Ti, a rebranded RTX 4080 12GB, is anticipated to cost more than the base model. This report contradicts the original reason NVIDIA discontinued the 4080 12GB, which makes it more confusing.
According to earlier speculations, NVIDIA will introduce the RTX 4070 Ti on January 5. Read more about it here. It has been verified by several sources that the 4070 Ti will go on sale and debut in the first week of January. In terms of cost, the leaker quotes a starting price of 7199 Yuan, or around $999. However, Harukaze does note that this cost will be for the Chinese market and that there may be a $100 tax.
Despite these assertions, it makes no sense to price the RTX 4070 Ti similarly to the RTX 4080 given there has just been a nomenclature change. However, given NVIDIA is known for making last-minute modifications, take this assertion with a hefty grain of salt.
