The sequel to the insanely popular 1999 Pokemon Snap could be releasing as soon as January 2021. While there aren’t any leaked listings that confirm the exact release date of the game, Nintendo’s official game store may have tipped off the the approximate release date of the game.
The Nintendo Store lists game in order of new to old and that includes unreleased games. This means that the games are sorted by dates from right to left.
Here, the latest game is Bravely Default II stated to release on February 26, 2021, while Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & The Blade of Light is set to release on December 4, 2020. Following the same order, New Pokemon Snap is likely to release in late December 2020 or January 2021. Since the first, pre-alpha trailer of the game was released on Jun 17, 2020, we’d like to give Nintendo the benefit of doubt and assume the release date to be January 2021.
If the game is coming out in January 2021, we’re quite likely to witness a Nintendo Direct presentation in December. On the contrary, as noted by u/koalatyvibes on Reddit, there is a slight offchance that the game will release sometime in 2021 rather than early 2021. However, since there is no firm release date, the title is sitting just in front of the year.
Fans can’t hold their excitement for the New Pokemon Snap. Players will get a chance to wander around an island inhibted by wonderful Pokemon. But instead of hunting them down for fights, you’ll click pictures of them. It’s a relaxing experience that takes a detour from the original Pokemon formula.
The original Pokemon Snap was an insanely popular title that sold over 1.5 million copies in the first year, and the game only released in Japan and North America in its first year.
