After the launch of the larger 15-inch MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro will still be available as part of Apple’s portable Mac portfolio, according to one rumor. There are presently two 13-inch MacBook models available from Apple.
Despite the launch of a 15-inch MacBook Air, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that the “Pro” version will remain in existence. Contrary to predictions, the bigger portable Mac will really launch with the M2 processor rather than the M3 one, which is an upgrade that will disappoint a sizable audience.
However, utilizing the M3 SoC on the 15-inch MacBook Air may ultimately hurt Apple’s 2023 MacBook Pro sales, therefore it is advisable to avoid doing so from a commercial standpoint. Customers would have a strong incentive not to choose one of the more expensive MacBook Pro models as the M3 would only be 6 percent slower than the 12-core CPU edition of the M2 Max in multi-core workloads while being 24 percent quicker in single-core operations.
Thankfully, the same SoC is allegedly coming to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, most likely in the fourth quarter, and Apple’s client base does include individuals who merely want a specs improvement, not an upgrade in appearance. Additionally, the only MacBook Pro model in the whole range that comes with a Touch Bar might still be useful to consumers even if it is only available on the smaller model.
The majority of prospective customers will desire the M3 version’s improved battery life, which should be significant. According to the rumor, Apple will eventually stop making this 13-inch MacBook Pro model in favor of one with a new chassis and design, but for the time being, there is a sizable market for it.
