The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max reportedly have displays with the smallest bezels ever, measuring only 0.06 inches. A display manufacturer by the name of ChinaStar, who is said to be starting mass production of a panel with bezels that are a razor-thin 1mm, will reportedly soon beat that record, however, and it won’t be for long.
It is difficult to understand how the manufacturer would do this with a bezel that is an unnatural 1mm in thickness. It seems weird the first time you hear the moniker “ChinaStar,” but TCL truly owns this display maker.
Ice Universe posted the information on Twitter, claiming that the 1mm bezels would surpass the 1.55mm bezels that are anticipated to be promoted by the future iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. With the current record being held by the Xiaomi 13, an Android flagship with a display with bezels that measure 1.81mm, the difference equals a decrease in bezels of 64%.
Despite the fact that Ice Universe does not specify which forthcoming smartphone model will have such 1mm bezels, we can make a knowledgeable assumption based on earlier announcements.
The Xiaomi 14 is likely to be the next handset with those 1mm bezels, and it makes perfect sense why the firm would choose this course of action. First off, the Xiaomi 13 now holds the record, and if speculations are accurate, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will overtake it. This competition should provide Xiaomi with enough incentive to produce its next flagship with the smallest bezels ever, and because ChinaStar is a local supplier, obtaining such screens shouldn’t be a problem.
