Crytek is a name that is immediately synonymous with a plethora of things. Whether you think of them as the original creators of Far Cry, or Crysis, the studio has had a long and dedicated history in gaming. However, the last few years have not been kind to them. After the release of Ryse in 2013, the studio struggled to find their place in the masses of gamers as Crysis 3 had also concluded the series earlier that year.

Crytek is working on an unannounced AAA FPS title

Crytek is one of the most admired gaming studios in the world of graphics. They have proven this twice with the help of Far Cry and Crysis. However, they went a whole console generation without making an impact like they did in the past, but that can soon change as the studio is hard at work on a new FPS title.

According to the careers page on the company’s official website, there are several listings for various positions and all of them are going to work on an unannounced FPS title.

When you go into the details of Game Designer, one of the key highlights here is 1 or more shipped AAA titles on PC or Console, preferably a FPS and Deep passion for gaming, preferably FPS sandbox games. This means Crytek is looking for talent that has prior experience in the world of FPS games.

Crytek’s last title was Hunt: Showdown released in 2020, and while the game had a relatively steady and smooth launch, and has a moderate sized fan base, it still isn’t the stellar hit that the name once brought to gamers ears once upon a time.

We do know that some details of some scrapped or Work-in-Progress Crysis titles were leaked some time back, but as of right now, no publisher has come forward to promote their games.

As we enter a new console generation, we can hope Crytek will make a triumphant return to the world of gaming and capture the audiences like they did in the past. We know an ambitious and new FPS from the studio is long overdue.
