With Hitman 3, Project Atheia, and Final Fantasy XVI already on many gamers’ minds, it might be possible that Square Enix could have more surprises in store for us for 2021. While we know the release dates for Hitman 3 and Project Atheia, January 20th 2021, and January 2022. A known leaker has just given us a first glance on what could be in store for us in 2021.
Life is Strange 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake for PS5 – A pleasant surprise
Square Enix is home to a plethora of memorable and unique IP’s. Some of them are gaming legends. With Final Fantasy and Hitman in that roster, they have a good fanbase that comprises of fans who are nostalgic for the two IP’s.
While Square Enix does have some good legacy IP’s, they also have some good new IP’s. Among those new IP’s is Life is Strange, which had a good first season and second season.
According to Navtra on ResetEra, who correctly delivered a lot of accurate information on the PS5 conference, has delivered a few more rumors for us to hang on to.
While they didn’t give specifics, they have stated we can expect Final Fantasy 7 Remake for the PS5 and Life is Strange 3, but the number 3 will be embedded in the name, similar to Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
While Life is Strange season 1 had a lot better reception and reviews, the second season wasn’t as well received as fans were hoping to continue the story of Max.
While we know that Square Enix and DontNOD are definitely working on a new Life is Strange, we can hope that they do announce the new entry in 2021 and hopefully for the same year.
While Life is Strange 2 last episode came at the end of 2019, it is about time we saw a new entry in the series and hopefully we see the return of Max, or perhaps a protagonist or story that is as interesting.
In addition, Final Fantasy 7 Remake could also be coming for the PS5. This could be after the console exclusivity expires on April 10th, 2021 for PS4, allowing it to come to other platforms. So it is possible for the game to come to the PS5 and other systems like the Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles.
