After years of the franchise being treated terribly and falling to an all-time low, we finally got some good news. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is getting a remake. This fan favorite is coming back and everyone is excited about it.
A lot of fans were speculating upon the announcement of this remake if Ubisoft is planning to go the Activision route with Crash and Spyro. In that case, we might be looking at new Prince of Persia titles coming if the remake makes bank. Extremely exciting, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Prince of Persia Sands of Time Delayed
But as if to offset the positive vibes this title was creating, we got a bit of bad news too.
Sad news Prince of Persia fans everywhere. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is getting delayed. The game set to be released on January 21, 2021 has now been delayed to March 18. Roughly a 2 months delay. The delay is not that long but it comes very close to the original release date.
This bit of news came through Ubisoft CZSK on Facebook in Czech. Since then, the post has been removed.
The post, coming from the developer team over at Ubisoft, announced the delay. The reason cited was that 2020 happened, and we all know what that meant. A short apology later, the post ends and we are left slightly disappointed.
Since then, the post has been removed. Also, no other media outlets of Ubisoft announced the delay. This probably means that this was a mess up on their end; the info was not meant to be released just yet.
Ubisoft has kept quiet since the mess up. But it is basically confirmed that we will have to wait a little longer before we can get our hands on the remake of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time. We hope, however, that this is good news. Make no mistake, I’d love to get my hands on this nostalgia trip as soon as possible. However, many people including myself do not enjoy buggy rushed titles that milk franchises bone dry.
