75.01Gb PKG file of CyberPunk 2077 was leaked by 4chan. Going by the file size, that’s essentially what could be the complete game leaked on the PlayStation store if a prior leak is to be believed.
The leak first surfaced on 4Chan, so take it with a grain of salt. Diving further into the details, you’ll find that the CUSA (USA) version of the game was leaked/
Americas – (PlayStation box code: CUSA-16596 and CUSA-16597)
Includes: North and Latin America
VO – English, Brazilian Portuguese, French
Text – English, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, French, Polish
If you’re like me and your first thought was to nag the game off the PlayStation Store and have an unofficial early access to the game, you’ll be disappointed to find it’s an encrypted file. While the PKG contains the full game, it’s useless in itself without the decryption key held on Sony’s servers. So, unfortunately, you’ll have to wait till the official release to purchase and play Cyberpunk 2077, even this leaked PKG file.
Although, if you’ll dig a bit deeper, you’ll realise that you can technically play PKG files on jailbroken PS4s. But you can’t play Cyberpunk 2077’s leaked PKG file even on a jailbroken console due to firmware compatibility. Cyberpunk 2077 supports firmware 6.72 but the jailbreak isn’t even anywhere near that firmware. And it’s not possible to downgrade the supported firmware of the game without a virtual licence. So, once again and still unfortunately, you’ll have to wait till the official release to purchase and play Cyberpunk 2077.
On the bright side of the things, this leak may affirm that fact that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be delayed any further than its current release date, 10th December 2020. The precise file size, as well as the recently leaked retail version of the game all, point out to the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 is finally ready to roll out and, contrary to the memes, we won’t have to wait until the year 2077 to play the game.
