Samsung has confirmed that they are trying to add dust protection to foldable phones, it is possible that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 may make their debuts with this protection in 2024.
Today during a press conference, Samsung’s mobile boss, TM Roh, said that the South Korean tech giant is attempting to make its foldable gadgets dust resistant. This would make these gadgets perfect for those who haven’t chosen them yet. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 may provide much-needed protection given that the current generation of Samsung foldable phones do not provide dust protection.
We are well aware of consumer demand for dust proofing, and we are making various efforts to achieve this, but due to the nature of foldables, there are many moving parts, so dust proofing is difficult

As for when this function would finally be included to the Samsung foldable phones, Roh also noted that we will need to wait a bit longer. Given that the latest generation of foldable phones has just recently been released, we will have to wait until at least the end of this year or the beginning of next year before learning more about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
