The DualSense 5 is the new controller set to work with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 5. Breaking away from the DualShock brand name, the DualSense aims to deliver new features with enhanced haptics and sound features. However, a new unboxing video shows the DualSense 5 controller working with an Android phone out of the box.
DualSense 5 controller works with Android out of the box, maybe the same for Apple
The DualSense 5 controller and the PlayStation 5 is making its way to media outlets, journalists, and other outlets. Among them is a YouTube channel by the name of Austin Evans.
In his testing video, he tests the DualSense 5 with the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PC, and lastly, an Android phone.
You can see the video above, and it appears at the 6:50 mark.
With Android OS 10 and Apple’s iOS 13/iPad OS 13, pairing controllers has never been easier. Whether you’re aiming to pair the controller with a smartphone or a tablet.
In Android phones, the device shows up as a Wireless Controller, and works seamlessly.
While Austin only tested the DualSense 5 with an Android phone, it is also highly probable for the controller to work with Apple devices, especially those running iOS/iPad OS 13 And above.
According to several sources, the DualSense 5 is starting to make its way to select markets, and while many retailers are prohibiting the purchase, some people are reporting being able to buy the controller.
If you do manage to buy the controller, you can use it with your home consoles, your phone paired with xCloud or Xbox remote play on iOS.
While you obviously won’t get the PS5 centered haptic feedback features, or the sound features that the controller is set to boast when a compatible game is running in tandem with the controller and console, the new controller still feels great to hold and grasp.
With the release of the new generation of consoles sneaking up on us ever so steadily, gamers all around the world are all in eager anticipation for the future of gaming to arrive in their homes.
