Halo Infinite is possibly the single most anticipated title right now (Unless Cyberpunk gets delayed, again). After a disappointing, yet reasonable, delay Halo Infinite got moved to some time into next year. Developers and others affiliated with 343 and Microsoft said it multiple times; there is no official release date yet, but it doesn’t stop people from trying to figure it out.
In fact, Brian Jarrard, community director at 343, tweeted a while ago that 343 has not locked on a date. This came in response to people speculating a leak after a few retailers listed the release date of the game near the holidays in 2021.
Halo Infinite Spring 2021 Release
But here we are again with more rumors, this time from a more trusted source.
During an interview with Dan Allen Master Chief motion capture actor, Bruce Thomas, revealed that Halo Infinite is “ready to go for next Spring.” Dan Allen, Australian youtuber and content creator, hosted Bruce Thomas on his show where the two talked – mostly – motion capture. Bruce Thomas, who also did the motion capture for Adler in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
A Reddit user posted the clip from Dan Allen’s interview with Bruce Thomas, where he dropped the potential intel on the game. Following a short discussion about Bruce’s experiences as the motion capture actor, and being generally part of the game, for Master Chief in Halo 3 and 4 he dropped it. The game should be ready by next spring.
Seems legit so far, but some people are skeptical. It isn’t so much that Bruce would be trolling the community, but there are factors that bring this proclamation under question. For starters, motion capture is done way well in advance for those AAA titles. We are talking years before the release date. Additionally, Bruce holds no other roles but his acting one; he is not a producer. While he may have some info regarding the process over at 343, he cannot foresee any decisions. So while the game may be “ready” by Spring, producers might choose to delay the release for any – technical or business-side – reason.
All in all, there is hope. We already know the game is coming next year. Bruce Thomas has also been a part of the franchise for a while so his word is credible. But who knows?
