Once again we have witnessed the extent of the gaming community’s power when it comes to solving the cryptic. We reported on the The Secret Doors Mystery in Demon’s Souls Remake a few days ago and it only took streamers and other people a week to crack it.

The Secret Doors Mystery in Demon’s Souls Remake – Very similar to Shadow of the Colossus

After much hard work and dedication, the souls community came together once more to solve a mystery unlike any other. On the 14th of November, 2 days after the NA launch of the PS5 and Demon’s Souls, fans discovered a new hidden secret door hidden behind an illusory wall in the game’s 1-3 level.

The Discovery was made by gamer, Distortion2.

Many fans have been trying to figure out the secret of the game since then, and I am proud to report that the mystery has been solved!

Scroll to 5:16 in the video and see for yourself.

It turns out that the player has to collect 26 hidden coins in the game (13 from New Game and then 13 from New Game+). Once you have 26 coins, you have to trade them to Sparkly the Crow for the Rusty key, which unlocks the door for you.

The reward for all these efforts is the Penetrator’s Armor Set. One of the main bosses in the game and so far one of the best armor sets in the game.

Here is a rough screenshot of the armors details from the stream:

Much Like Shadow of the Colossus, Bluepoint wanted to make sure that fans from the past got a nod in the current-generation remake. Just like the ardent adventurers who searched the PS2 version of Shadow of the Colossus to the point of breaking the debug mode.

In the case of Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Bluepoint hid 79 shiny collectibles across the massive world to reflect the 79 steps to enlightenment. Upon collecting them you can return to the temple to open a secret door that gets you the Sword of Dormin, named after the antagonist of the game.

Just like the fans who were immortalized with the little Easter egg, we need to go back to the games of the GameFAQs forums for the game where fans wished they could get the penetrator armor.

It is being debated whether the armor was made as a tribute to those players or out of respect for a fellow developer.

Here is a picture of the armor:

As you can see, the great mystery has been solved and fans will continue probing into the game for any more hidden secrets. Perhaps solving the mysterious scream?
