NVIDIA has recently unveiled its top-of-the-line choice for the RTX 4000 series. The RTX 4090 is packed with tremendous features and power making it the best in the league.

Although it’s not the full-fat version of the chip, the RTX 4090 is based on the AD102 GPU, which offers performance that is unmatched. That is being held until later by NVIDIA. Regardless, the GPU comes equipped with a sizable 24GB of Samsung-made GDDR6X memory that operates at 24Gbps, providing an effective bandwidth of 1152GB/s across a 384-bit bus.

The RTX 4090 is because it is loaded with features and performance, which causes frequent heating. To address this problem, NVIDIA made the decision to enclose a sizable heatsink with the GPU in order to improve cooling. You can look at how big the heatsink is in the ASUS TUF RTX 4090 variant:

This behemoth features 75 billion transistors overall, more than 2.5 times as much as the RTX 3090 Ti, and 16384 CUDA Cores. The cost of all this power is, well, power. With a 450W TDP, the RTX 4090 needs at least an 850W power supply to turn on. The RTX 4090 will be available on October 12th for $1599.

How Does the RTX 4090 Perform In-Game and Synthetically?

Jumping immediately to the performance stats for gaming, the RTX 4090 is really claiming the title of “Fastest in the market.” The 4090 outperforms the Ampere leader in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Extraction by a stunning 60%.

The RTX 4090 effortlessly smashes the 144FPS cap in Far Cry 6 at 4K High settings. Although the disparity does lessen at lesser resolutions. 4K is still seen as low for such a GPU.

The RTX 4090 leaves no stone unturned in demanding and artificial tasks. This GPU has already set a world record in TSE (Time Spy Extreme) by scoring 20,263 points. That is essentially two times as powerful as an RTX 3090.

The GPU core of the RTX 4090 was tested by Gamer’s Nexus for about 90 minutes, and its temperature never exceeded 65 to 70C. Although the hot spot is significantly higher and reaches the mid-80s, it is not particularly harmful.

In terms of gaming at 1080P, the RTX 4090 is overkill. Such a monster was built to power far more demanding situations, like 4K Ultra or even 8K games, if the user so chooses. The RTX 4090 offers excellent value in terms of 4K price to performance. The RTX 4090 outperforms a 4K-capable GPU like the 3090 or 6900 XT in terms of value for money.

Is Buying a RTX 4090 Worth Your Money?

On paper, the RTX 4090 initially seemed too good to be true. These standards, however, speak for themselves. The $1599 price is overly straightforward. You’ll end up paying much more than the stated MSRP if you include a new case and a new PSU. However, the 4090 still provides a significant improvement even at these costs.

The above benchmarks and details included wouldn’t be possible if the respective owners didn’t contribute. This article will surely clear your doubts about NVIDIA’s recent release.
