Nukes is the name of the game in the new leaked “Dropkick” game mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Like its predecessors, part of the Cold War’s allure is its ever-changing seasons and content. And, although the game was just released to the public on 12 November, it seems the teams at Treyarch and Raven are already planning new game modes and features. During their hard work, however, a few details slipped their fingers. Several loading screen messages seem to hint at a new game mode that includes nukes!
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War New Game Mode: Dropkick
We did not get to see a lot of messages, but we got just enough. Dropkick’s objective, as described in the loading screens, gives players access to launch codes. A team needs to collect all the launch codes in order to declare victory. Before the other team can stop them, that is. Pretty straightforward, but enough to keep the game mode entertaining.
Additionally, if you die while your team is holding the objective you do not get to respawn until the carrier is eliminated. Not much else has been leaked on the new game mode. But, the descriptions pretty much make a good portion of a ruleset. As far as the messages go, the new game mode sounds very similar to the old-school headquarters game modes. There is also a lot of similarities to be noted between Dropkick and Hardpoint.
New updates are always welcome, that’s for sure. A lot of players have been disappointed, however, in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launch. Not necessarily in the game itself, but in the number of bugs and issues with both the multiplayer and single-player. A lot of fans have been justifiably upset at Treyarch. Instant kill glitches on release week and players falling through maps are not exactly enjooyable. Instead, many people have been calling out for fixes and patches first. After all, what’s new content if a large portion of the player base can barely play it?
So far, neither Activision nor Treyarch commented on the leaks. But the loading screens are already in the game; the game mode is most likely real and coming (or at least ready) very soon.
